Work crews remove ice and snow at base of Bridal Falls

The spring temperatures are finally putting a thaw on the ice at the base of the American and Horseshoe Falls which comprise Niagara Falls. The eighty degree temps are helping Niagara Falls State Park works crews remove the heavy ice and snow at the base of the American Falls and at Terrapin Point.

Once all of the ice is removed the Cave of the Winds will open up for the 2015 summer season. Terrapin Point will also remain closed until every bit of the slippery stuff is either melted or removed.

Free Summer Concert Series Expanded to Eight Weeks

The Town of Niagara “Music Mania Mondays” free concert series will run eight consecutive Mondays beginning June 22nd and ending Monday August 10th. The exception will be the Wednesday July 1st “Independence Day” concert which will also feature fireworks immediately afterwards.

The concerts will take place at the Town Community Center at 7105 Lockport Road from 6:30-9:00PM with concession vendors available. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and alcohol is not permitted.

June 22nd- Penelope

July 1st- Hit n’ Run

July 6th- 90 West

July 13th- White Chocolate Band

July 20th- Thurman Brothers

July 27th- Diva Show

August 3rd- Crash Cadillac (Concert & Car Show)

August 10th- Strictly Hip

Niagara Falls New York has been voted the top “Kid-Friendly” destination in the country by readers of USA Today.

The publication stated; “Only a handful of votes separated our winner from the runner up, but in the end, Niagara Falls, N.Y. came out on top. Families flock to this northeastern city to experience the awe-inducing grandeur of this natural wonder, whether aboard the Maid of the Mist or from the Cave of the Winds. Aside from the cascades, Niagara is packed with other family-centric attractions.”
