Niagara Falls Observation Tower

Niagara Falls Observation Tower

Niagara Falls Observation TowerThe Niagara Falls Observation Tower located at Prospect Point in the Niagara Falls State Park offers a great close-up view of the American Falls for only one dollar. That’s the admission fee which allows you to both walk out onto the observation deck or take the elevator down to the base of the American Falls.

Niagara Falls Observation Tower The Niagara Falls Observation Tower was erected in 1961 and underwent a face-lift in 2001. The tower stands 282 feet tall and offers a unique elevated and out-front view of the American Falls.

The elevator takes you down to the bottom of the Niagara Gorge where you can also board the Maid of the Mist for an additional fee.

There is a pathway to the base of the Falls that allows visitors to walk up a series of stairs that go about half-way up the Gorge. Visitors may not get quite as close as the Cave of the Winds, but they are still just yards from the cascading water fall.

Niagara Falls Ontario has several towers, but the Niagara Falls Observation Tower on the American side is the lone tower located in the Niagara Gorge itself.
